A pair of Spotted Owlet (Athene brama). This small, stocky owl is a common resident across tropical Asia, from India to Southeast Asia. Key Features and Information: Appearance: It has grey-brown upper parts that are heavily spotted with white, and white underparts streaked with brown. A key feature is the prominent white neckband and "eyebrows" above its bright yellow irises. Habitat & Behavior: The spotted owlet has successfully adapted to human-modified landscapes, frequently found in open habitats like farmland, urban parks, and near buildings. While primarily nocturnal, it can often be seen during the day, especially if disturbed from its roost in a tree hollow or building cavity.
