Unusually located right below two small stems of a bakain or Persian Lilac tree, this One Rupee coin sized nest-hole was created by a Crimson-breasted Barbet. The Colourful clown of the bird world is this cute Coppersmith Barbet sticking its neck of its nest-hole in the heart of New Delhi city, with squirrels and traffic noises melding in the urban city audioscape. This Coppersmith or Crimson-breasted Barbet can hold onto a wooden trunk even UPSIDE down, as it feeds its chicks in nest hole, in a Persian Lilac of Bakain tree in Delhi. It then enters the nest-hole, collects the chicks' poop and flies out with it, to discard it afar, so as not to attract predators that might get attracted to the smell.
