A white-breasted kingfisher also known as a white-throated kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis) is a common bird in South Asia and adjoining areas. It feeds on insects, grasshoppers, smaller fishes and can be found in aquatic areas, terrestrial and also man-made areas. The bird is characterised by a snow-white patch from the throat to the breast, heavy orange bills and bright blue back, wings and tail.
