The White-throated Laughing Thrush moves around in bands of 5 to 10 birds, one calling to the other to stay in touch. The call is a lovely ventiloquistic echoing whistle that is often heard across the lower hills of the Himalaya. Friendly birds, their behaviour is akin to the Jungle Babbler of the plains. They skulk around in the undergrowth hoping to turn up worms and grubs from the leaf litter.
