The chicks are now much larger, and their orange gapes have turned more burgundy-red in colour. The fledglings are now almost ready to fly! Towards the end of the video, the baby backs up and squirts out its poop sack, so its mother can collect it in her beak and discard it far away. Mother crow comes along and stuffs the hungry upward-facing gapes of the hungry chicks - all mouths they are! Those wings look more like flippers and those necks look terribly weak and unsupported. Bare unprotected chicks with no feathers and their eyes shut, exposed to the world in a flimsy nest high above traffic. And yet they will survive and their numbers will grow in this world...
