The Crow sits on a nest of eggs but when it gets up, two chicks have hatched. So dainty and delicate are their new born necks! The mother regurgitates food from her throat to feed the chicks. The crow couple sit day and night keeping the eggs not warm but cool, in the hot summer sun. Two of the eggs therein belong to a Koel that has cleverly laid them in between the Crow's eggs, the Koel being a Cuckoo! Chicks struggle for their parents' attention, squawking and opening their beaks even as their eyes are closed and they are essentially blind to the world.
