A Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea) stands stock-still inside the water looking for fish. It's chest feathers delicately ride the wind. Note the reflection of the bird on the surface of the still waters. It is grooming itself with its beak. A brisk motion of the beak through its plumage and the feathers are properly aligned, with the barbs and burbules all lining up along each feather's edge. Generally quite common and conspicuous in wetland habitats from marshes and tidal flats to small ponds, ditches, and wet fields; nests colonially in tall trees. Mainly seen as singles or in small groups, standing quietly in or at the edge of water, less often hunting in fields.
