Starting with a neem leaf as a palette cleanser and fungicide cum anti bacterial cleanse, a Grey Hornbill mama then feeds chicks inside tree trunk nest. Nest hygiene is such a top priority that the little chick has been taught to turn around and squirt out its poop from the nest entrance, so that the goo does not accumulate inside the nest hole. The neem leaves only add to the cleanliness inside the gut of the hornbill chicks, to prevent any fungus or bacteria built-up due to them growing up in close proximity inside a hot nest hole in summer. Ficus berries are offered after the Neem leaves.
