The sudden excitement of this swallow brood when a parent brings in food is both cute and comical. They would do well as advertising agency executives, one would think! Thanks to Meenakshi Pundeer for hosting these lovely birds in her family's Himalayan Haat, and for helping us film them! The Wire-tailed Swallow often lives close to human beings. Here in the Himalaya, they breed inside a shop knowing fully well that the shop shuts for the night (they time their arrival!) and will open once more in the morning (they stay hungry until it opens!). Human - bird synergy at its best... No conflict here. In fact, the shop owners tolerate the birdy mess on their electrical box and quite happily let them live their avian lives in peace.
