Crossing a Himalayan torrent may not look too dangerous on your screen, but when you're dealing with slippery rocks, a fast flowing stream, icycles on the rocks, and an uncertain stream-bed, you need to take all precautions. These trekkers collect logs of wood and build a makeshift bridge, covering them with flat stones. Then the passage is rather safe and easy. This little trekking drama takes place in the lower Gangotri valley, above the village of Dharali in Uttarakhand, India.
