The handsome Red-whiskered Bulbul or Crested Bulbul sits on a branch preening itself. These birds are common in Indian gardens. They re songbirds and are sold as cagebirds too. At the time of General H P W Hutson's book on the 'Birds around Delhi', the Red-whiskered Bulbul was almost absent in Delhi. Now, it's a common garden resident and local breeder. Notice the outer physical anatomy of the bird seen up close. The red whiskers on its face, the red vents in the covert of tail feathers. The sharp black crest on the head and the whitish underside.
