A charming pair of Budgerigars (Melopsittacus undulatus) displaying natural social and breeding behaviours in a home aviary environment. Perched comfortably on top of traditional earthen clay pots, a vibrant green-and-yellow budgie and a striking sky-blue budgie interact closely with one another. These clay pots, commonly known as matkas, are widely used as nesting chambers for budgerigars and other small parrots because they provide a cool, secure, and sheltered space for egg laying and chick rearing.
