Kallima inachus or Indian Oakleaf or dead leaf is a butterfly known for its adaptive mimicry. The butterfly looks like a dried leaf when folded and a spectacular array of colours. Notice the dried leaf-like features when the butterfly folds and the popping colours once it spreads its wings. Orange Oakleaf Butterfly is one of the most fascinating butterflies seen in Great Himalayan National Park. It looks like a dry leaf and is easily camouflaged on the ground or on the tree trunk.
