The closed wings look like a staticdry brown oak leaf but when they open, it is a different world of colour and magic... Kallima inachus or Indian Oakleaf or dead leaf is a butterfly known for its adaptive mimicry. The butterfly looks like a dried leaf when folded and has a spectacular array of colours. Notice the dried-leaflike features when the butterfly folds and the popping colours once it spreads its wings. The Orange Oakleaf Butterfly is one of the most fascinating butterflies seen in Great Himalayan National Park. I
