Jungle Myna seen at 7300 feet altitude on Oak trees around Mussoorie in the Himalaya - new altitude record of an invasive adaptable species. They are not supposed to be present in the mountains, as they are essentially a plains species. Noteworthy by way of their patch of feathers above the beak and an orange beak too... These are Jungle Myna birds. Interesting record for an altitude of 7300 feet, but given how adaptable mynas are, we're not entirely surprised. Having them here is not a good sign, though, because they are extremely aggressive birds and tend to take over nesting sites of indigenous species.
