A large number of Black Kites (Milvus migrans) are seen circling overhead, drawn to organic waste from nearby slaughterhouses and the Ghazipur Landfill. Several of these raptors are also perched on a streetlight, scanning the surroundings. Known for their adaptability, Black Kites are a common sight in urban Delhi, especially around areas with abundant food sources.
