What a tough life it must be to be an Ibex in winter snow! No food, and lots of effort to get to a few scant tubers and bits of dry grass, when you need to keep your body the warmest! Blanketed in snow in the high altitude mountain valley of Spiti in Himachal Pradesh, a small herd of Himalayan Ibex digs into the snow for food. Trudging in knee-deep snow a mother and a juvenile look for food. But it looks like something is scaring them off. The mother struggles to escape the snow. Himalayan Ibex roams the Himalayan high altitude crags and cliffs and is a stable prey to the Snow Leopard. They are rarely seen as their habitat is far from easy access and formidable terrains.
