A vibrant Trabala vishnou caterpillar sits quietly on a fresh green leaf, its bright lime-green body blending almost perfectly with the surrounding foliage. Covered in dense, velvety hairs (setae), the larva appears soft and fuzzy, yet these hair-like structures serve as a natural defense against predators. The segmented body arches slightly as it grips the leaf surface with its prolegs, maintaining balance along the midrib. Belonging to the family Lasiocampidae, this species is commonly found across parts of India and Southeast Asia. The caterpillar feeds on various host plants, gradually storing energy for its transformation.
