Hunched up Pond Heron enjoys winter sunshine on a Sehmal or Silk Cotton tree at the Wilderness Orchard in Delhi, preening and looking down to the waters below for potential prey. Just a lazy Sunday for this Heron! Not until it takes to wing, for flight, do the white undersides of its wing feathers show up prominently. Till then, it remains a drab brown in camouflage.
