What sharp black on red colour contrast, as a range of Himalayan birds feast on Rhododendron flower nectar and petals. Black Bulbul, the shy and retiring but fabulous songster - the Grey-winged Blackbird, the even more shy Rusty-cheeked Scimitar Babbler, Scaly-bellied Green Woodpecker and a Himalayan Pied or Darjeeling Pied Woodpecker. The Blue Barbet and a pair of Hill Barbets call in the background. What a lovely white puff of feathers the Scaly-bellied Green Woodpecker has on its right wing!
