A Common Hill Partridge or Peora calls in the backdrop even as the trills of Sibias over-shadow the calls of the Thrush couple. What lovely Himalayan bird calls in our bird sanctuary! The brightly plumed male of the Chestnut-bellied Rock Thrush is a common resident of the Wilderness Orchard and botanical gardens in Uttarakhand. The female is a drab speckled brown and can be seen carrying insect food back, for its chicks. One can also see the Black-capped Sibia on an Oak branch, a Green-backed Tit and a Lesser Scaly-bellied Green Woodpecker at its nest-hole.
