Nestling in the foot hills of the Himalayas, this tiger reserve extends over 1200 square kilometres. The Ramganga river flows through the park and little streams inundate the forests. Project Tiger was launched here in 1973. In addition to the big cats and elephants, several species of deer like hog, sambar, and others are found here.
