The rare Barasingha or Jerow / Sambhar of the Himalaya is a large deer species that lives a very secretive life at high altitudes and is rarely ever seen, except here for the first time that wildfilmsindia brings this rare footage to you of a Jerow family licking salt off a rockface in the Garhwal Himalaya. The Jerow family are licking salt from the edge of a snow melt sheet, and are uniquely adapted to a cold high altitude environment unlike their plains cousins who deal with extreme heat!
