A Blue Whistling-Thrush (Myophonus caeruleus) foraging on the forest floor in its natural habitat. The bird uses its bill to flip dry leaves and leaf litter while searching for food, a common feeding behaviour that helps it locate insects, earthworms, snails, and other small invertebrates hidden beneath the debris. After turning over the leaves, the bird pauses to scan its surroundings before continuing its search. The Blue Whistling-Thrush is recognizable by its dark blue-black plumage with iridescent blue speckles and its bright yellow-orange bill. The species' natural foraging behaviour among fallen leaves and low vegetation, providing a close view of its feeding strategy in a woodland environment.
