A close-up view of an Asian house shrew (Suncus murinus) inside a clear plastic live trap. The shrew is grey in color, with a sharp pointed snout, and can be seen moving around inside the transparent trap, clearly trying to find a way out. The clear design of the trap allows us to observe the shrew’s behavior up close as it searches for an escape. These small mammals are fast, alert, and surprisingly active even in confined spaces. In the final part of the video, you’ll see safely releasing the shrew back into its natural environment. Once freed, the shrew immediately runs away, showing how important humane trapping and release is when dealing with wildlife.
