A Malabar grey hornbill (Ocyceros griseus) is perched on the upper branch of a tree in southern India. This hornbill species is endemic to the Western Ghats region and is commonly found in forested habitats. The bird shows grey plumage with a long, curved bill featuring a casque, typical of hornbills. Positioned at the treetop, it surveys the surrounding area, a common behaviour for feeding and vigilance. The setting reflects a natural canopy environment with open sky and foliage around the perch. The observation highlights a native bird species in its typical arboreal habitat.
