A female Oriental Magpie-Robin (Copsychus saularis) perched beside a tree hollow, likely a nesting or roosting site. The bird repeatedly enters and exits the cavity while remaining alert to its surroundings, a common behavior during the nesting season. Perched outside the hollow, she carefully scans the area, watching for potential predators or disturbances before returning to the cavity. The female displays the species' characteristic grayish-brown upperparts, pale underparts, and prominent white wing patch. Unlike the glossy black-and-white male, females have more subdued coloration that provides effective camouflage around nesting sites.
