This wildlife footage showcases the elegant Painted Stork (Mycteria leucocephala) foraging in the marshy wetlands of Bharatpur, also known as Keoladeo National Park, Rajasthan. The clip captures the stork walking slowly through shallow water with its long pink legs partially dipped, a classic wetland feeding posture. As it moves through the marsh, the bird repeatedly lowers its large yellow, down-curved beak into the water, demonstrating its distinctive tactile feeding technique. Painted Storks rely on a method known as snap feeding, where the beak remains partially open underwater and snaps shut instantly upon sensing prey such as small fish, frogs, and aquatic invertebrates.
