A Verditer Flycatcher (Eumyias thalassinus) is seen perched in a Himalayan forest, instantly recognisable by its striking “verditer” or copper-sulphate blue plumage. This intense blue colouration covers most of its body, making it one of the most visually distinctive birds in the region. A defining feature is the subtle black mask between its eyes and at the base of its bill, which is more pronounced in males. The bird often sits upright on an exposed perch, scanning for insects before darting out to catch them mid-air. Set against the green forest backdrop, its vivid blue stands out sharply, creating a beautiful contrast in this natural habitat.
