Bobbing its head up and down in a comical fashion is this Collared Falconet at Rongtong / Latpanchar, bobbing its head up and down, as it preens its feathers. Popping its head out of its tree-trunk nest hole, the Falconet emerges with great caution, trying not to be seen by predators. Chirping and bobbing, the Falconet has a rather comical stance and habits! The collared falconet (Microhierax caerulescens) is a species of bird of prey in the family Falconidae. It is found in the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia, ranging across Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
