A Pied Kingfisher is perched on a vertical bamboo post near a wetland environment. The bird displays its distinctive black-and-white plumage pattern along with a prominent crest while resting above the water area. Its sharp beak remains partially open as it watches the surroundings from the elevated perch. Pied Kingfishers are commonly associated with lakes, rivers, marshes, and wetlands where they hunt small fish by hovering above the water before diving.
