Black Drongo (Dicrurus macrocercus) is an all-black bird with a distinctive forked tail. Found in the tropical region, they are in great number in southern India. One can see them roost on the millet crops in the farms of South India. Finger Millet(Eleusine coracana), commonly known as Ragi is grown in arid and semi-arid regions of the world. It is very well promoted by the government for farms to grow as it consumes very less water compared to other cereals. Pearl Millet (Pennisetum glaucum) is grown along with Ragi in this farm, this also being another millet that grows in arid and semi-arid regions of the world.
