A large flock of Demoiselle Cranes, locally known as Kurja, gathers at the Pakshi Chugga Ghar in Khichan, Rajasthan, a well-known feeding site for these seasonal visitors. Hundreds of cranes fill the open ground as they move, call and feed together, creating a continuous soundscape across the village setting. Their long shadows stretch across the ground beneath the clear morning sky, while traditional buildings and local structures surround the feeding area. The cranes migrate to Rajasthan from breeding grounds across Central Asia and Mongolia, making Khichan an important stop during their seasonal movement.
