The final chapter of Delhi's extraordinary Lodhi Garden hornbill saga. After weeks of astonishing bird behaviour, the Indian Grey Hornbill chicks have finally fledged and left the nest. The female Oriental Pied Hornbill returns to the nest site, searching for the young birds she had helped raise alongside their Grey Hornbill parents. Since May 2026, this remarkable case of cross-species foster feeding captivated birders, scientists and wildlife enthusiasts across India. With the chicks successfully taking flight, this heartwarming story reaches its natural conclusion. Filmed in Lodhi Garden, New Delhi.
