Lata Village is located on a steep Himalayan ridge in the Niti Valley region of Uttarakhand. Traditional village houses are surrounded by extensive step-terraced agricultural fields carved into the mountain slopes. Deep below the settlement, the Dhauliganga River flows through a narrow rocky gorge, cutting across the valley floor. A red and white telecommunications tower stands near the edge of the village, reflecting the infrastructure supporting remote mountain communities. Dense coniferous forests cover the upper ridges and surrounding mountain slopes above the settlement.
