Interesting and rare behaviour, nonetheless! The Kalij Pheasant (Lophura leucomelanos) is a generally forest dwelling bird that is found in the southern foothills of the Himalayas. It is found in forests and thickets, especially in the Himalayan foothills, from the Northern India to western Thailand. The females are overall brownish, but the males differ from each other depending on their subspecies involved, and commonly have partially glossy bluish-black plumage.
