An Indian star tortoise (Geochelone elegans) walks towards its feeding space. The tortoise sports a carapace with geometrical patterns on it. It is a threatened species according to the IUCN Red List. They inhabit arid and dry areas towards the north in India. Their diet mainly includes succulent leaves, fallen leaves, grass etc. This one was seen and filmed at the edge of the Indian desert of the Thar in Rajasthan.
