This aerial footage captures the rare and graceful Irrawaddy Dolphin, scientifically known as Orcaella brevirostris, in its natural habitat at Chilika Lake, Odisha. From above, we see the vast brackish waters dotted with a few traditional fishing boats, flying birds, and moments of calm that define this unique lagoon ecosystem. At intervals, the Irrawaddy dolphin surfaces gently, breaking the water to breathe, offering a rare and mesmerizing wildlife sighting. Chilika Lake is one of the last strongholds of Orcaella brevirostris in India and plays a crucial role in the conservation of this endangered species.
