The Blue-throated Barbet is a foothills Barbet that makes it way up into the middle Himalaya at Motidhar. Typically, one hears it in the foothills of the Terai and Shivaliks, or at Corbett Park if you're staying at Kanda Forest Rest House. In the plains, one has the Green Barbet and Coppersmith and in the mountains, you have the Hill Barbet. But the Blue-throated has extended its altitudinal range here to over 6000 feet around Mussoorie which is rather unusual.
