Dharchula is a mountain border town in Pithoragarh district, Uttarakhand, India, located in the Himalayan valley along the Kali River. The settlement is densely developed, with multi-storey residential buildings, commercial structures, and houses with blue, white, and grey roofs covering much of the valley floor. Steep green mountains rise around the town, with forested slopes, exposed terrain, and terraced sections visible across the surrounding landscape. Buildings extend along the lower slopes and valley floor, creating a compact settlement between the mountains. The Kali River forms part of the natural geographical boundary between India and Nepal in this region. The contrast between the densely built urban area and the surrounding Himalayan terrain.
