This wildlife footage captures a small flock of flamingos resting and foraging along the edge of Shakambari Jheel, Sambhar Lake, Rajasthan, one of India’s most important inland saline wetlands. The birds seen here are Greater Flamingos (Phoenicopterus roseus), identifiable by their pale pink plumage, long legs, and graceful feeding posture in shallow water. The clip begins with calm scenes of the flamingos standing close together near the lake margin, occasionally moving and probing the saline water for algae and microorganisms. The warm tones of the landscape and the reflective water surface highlight the fragile beauty of this high-salinity ecosystem.
