How the forest department bungled big time and killed a tiger in India! A tiger was pinned down by a JCB earth-mover and one of India's 2500 odd wild tigers was accidentally put to an end. This followed a possible overdose during botched attempts at tranquillisation in the forests adjacent to Corbett National Park. On Thursday morning, migrant labourers working at a stone quarry on the Dabka river went into the forests of Belpadav range in the Terai West Forest Division where they came upon the male tiger. The big cat attacked Bhagwati Devi, 33, and her father-in-law Lakhpat who tried to help her. Both of them died on the spot. The Dabka and Kosi rivers are mined for sand, exerting pressure on the natural ecosystems and the wildlife habitat in and around Corbett Tiger Reserve. According to
