When tiger populations dwindle in one reserve, a chosen male or female is tranquilised at the Kanha Tiger Reserve in Mandla, after being suitably identified for the purpose, from another reserve, and is then translocated to a new reserve, for re-stocking and breeding purposes. The vet touches the pupil of the tiger's eyeball to check if it is moist. They dip the tigress in water and fan her to keep her cool in the August monsoon heat and humidity. A muzzle is also placed on her mouth. This tiger was moved from Madhya Pradesh in central India on 22nd June 2018.
