41 Killed after a bus falls into river in Gujarat

Among the dead are 21 women, five children and 15 men, they said. The Gujarat government announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the next of the kin of each of the deceased. The death toll in the mishap involving a Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) bus at Navsari in South Gujarat has climbed to 41, police said on Saturday. Among the dead are 21 women, five children and 15 men, they said. The Gujarat government announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the next of the kin of each of the deceased. The government will bear the entire cost for the treatment of the injured, Navsari Collector Ramiya Mohan told reporters. Chief Minister Anandiben Patel will also visit Navsari this afternoon to meet the 27 injured, who are admitted in four different hospitals there, she said. “Death
