This story is guaranteed to warm the cockles of your heart! One tends to only hear negative wildlife stories coming out of India! Here's a refreshingly positive one, with a truly happy ending. This elephant baby got trapped in a pit and couldn't come out. Villagers came to its rescue but given its weight (nothing short of a tonne!), they were not able to make much progress. In came the forest department who got in the police and they finally requisitioned a JCB earth mover from a nearby construction site. The team worked tirelessly and intelligently planned out a slanted exit path for the ele baby.
