The entrance area of the Gangasagar Mela 2024, one of India’s largest annual religious pilgrimages held on Sagar Island in West Bengal where the Ganges River meets the Bay of Bengal. An illuminated ceremonial gateway welcomes thousands of arriving pilgrims, with festival signage and government infrastructure highlighting the scale of preparations for the massive gathering. Devotees dressed in traditional clothing walk through the sandy mela grounds carrying luggage and personal belongings after long journeys from different parts of India.
