Jhirna is am important tourist zone in the Jim Corbett National park that is open for tourist round the year. Jhirna Gate is located at 16 km from Ramnagar city. Jhirna was a farming village till the year 1994, but was then transformed into a Project Tiger safe zone. The unrestricted farmland is progressively relapsing into sprawling wild state and managed and controlled with the purpose to develop into a grassland habitat. The adjacent terrain comprisesseveral gorges that run across the typically Shiwalik landscape. The hills lying on north of Jhirna are enclosed with dense patches of bamboo.
