Hunting of frogs demonstrated by Phom Naga men at Hornbill Festival, Kisama Heritage Village in Nagaland. Frog hunting or frog catching games has evolved as a traditional practise specially among the Phom menfolks both young and old. It plays a significant role in Phom Naga tribe. Frog hunting allows the warrior to show off their fighting skills. Phom is one of the major tribes inhabiting Longleng district of Nagaland. With beating of log drums, Monyu is a new year festival with a difference. It provides an opportunity for the male members of a family to shower love on their married daughters and sisters by gifting the best rice beer and specially prepared food.
