Young villagers from Singhpur are seen catching fish using traditional methods in natural marshy water bodies filled during the seasonal rains. A local youth wades chest-deep through muddy wetland water while searching for fish by hand and by sight among aquatic vegetation. The rural fishing area is covered with floating weeds, moss, and dense wild grasses growing along the edges of the pond. Such small-scale fishing practices remain an important part of everyday subsistence and traditional livelihood systems in many villages of Odisha. The activity reflects local knowledge of wetland environments and resourceful community-based fishing techniques practised in natural freshwater habitats. The footage captures rural life, wetland ecosystems, and traditional fishing culture in eastern India.
