Spring-time and it's breeding and mating time for these Kaleej Pheasants at our wildfilmsindia wildlife sanctuary in the Himalaya. One evening, after dusk, we espied this Kaleej male doing his thing, foraging and also intermittently displaying to and courting his female. See the private lives of Himalayan Pheasants without intruding on them or disturbing them! A Kalij Pheasant breeding pair of male and female birds forage for insects and seeds among ferns on a moist early monsoon hillside at the wildfilmsindia estate in Motidhar, Mussoorie. The male walks among the growing wild balsam undergrowth.
